Celebrating Mass

Today we celebrated a whole school mass in Church. Year 3 had the opportunity to wear their First Holy Communion outfits again and they read beautifully. It was great to have the opportunity to say a special prayer for our Faith Friends and celebrate the fact they have made their Communion.

Rounders Match

Last night year 6 played their first rounders match against St Paul's. It was a friendly match but was tough at the same time. Both teams played extremely well. The final result was 6 rounders to 5 rounders.Everyone had a great time! We would like to thank St Paul's for making the journey over here and for taking part.

Cross Country Event

Last night children in Year 6 and Year 5 took part in the annual cross country event. Many schools took part, competition was tough and our children were a credit to the school. We did very well and were runners up! By Fiona

Half Term Project

This half term the children in Year 6 have been asked to complete a research project on their chosen Saint's name. Why have you chosen this Saint? Why are they important to you? What fascinating facts can you find? Children must bring this in on the Monday after half term so that we can share what we have found and it can make part of our Confirmation project. I look forward to reading them!!

Writing our own prayers.

Today we have been writing our prayer to the Holy Spirit to display in church.
It has been a long and thoughtful process, we started with the prayer to the Holy Spirit and wrote our own using the prayer as a guide. We wrote about the Spirit of God, the Fire of the Spirit and the Wind of the Spirit.

First Cricket Match of the Year

Last night children in year 5 and 6 played our first cricket match against St. Francis. It was a very tough match and both teams played very well - showing great sportsmanship! Holy Souls School were victorious in the end. We look forward to our future matches! By Matthew and Connor.

Faith Friends

This week we have met with our Faith Friends. A Faith Friend is a buddy in year 3 who we are supporting in their sacramental preparation. They, in turn, are helping us get ready for our Confirmation. They are someone who is always there for you when you need them. We enjoyed explaining the fruits and also the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We also enjoyed creating a story board with our faith friend about how we will use the fruits in our lives. By Connor and Keely.

Getting Ready for Confirmation

Year 6 have been preparing for their Confirmation for the last few months. Today we have been identifying the different ways in which the Holy Spirit is symbolised in extracts from the bible. We are looking at the Holy Spirit because we will be receiving it in the Sacrament of Confirmation. This afternoon we will share what we have learnt with our Faith Friends in Year 3.

Welcome

Welcome everyone to our Year 6 Blog. We will attempt to tell you what we have been doing in class on a daily basis. With SATs over, we are preparing for our Confirmation, our trip to Harvington Hall and many important events before we leave Holy Souls. This will act as a record of our final days at primary school!
