Year 6 have been very busy with Science Week. Yesterday we discussed, planned and created creatures which are adapted to specific habitats. It was a great opportunity to be very creative and work in groups to bring our scientific ideas alive!
Today we carried out two experiments. We discovered that if we add 'chalky' sweets e.g. sherbet to a bottle of coca cola, they react with the acidic coke and it creates a 'fountain' as the coke fizzed out of the bottle. It looked impressive and we discussed ways to improve it next time!
We also learned about what density means. We discovered that when we mix syrup, water and oil they separate. Syrup is the most dense - it fell to the bottom layer. Oil was the least dense.
What experiments will tomorrow bring?
