This week in Literacy we are writing a Quest.
Thog and Nat have been given a task...... it is up to us to decide what it is and where they must go. We have so far written 'wow' character profiles and settings. Watch this space to find out where this adventure takes us and if Thog and Nat are successful!

What a Puzzle!
This morning Year 6 had a trip to Archbishop Ilsley. We were lucky enough to spend the morning solving fun and tricky maths puzzles in groups. Two of our favourites were balancing penguins on a wobbley piece of ice and fitting together all the pieces of a tricky and colourful jig- saw puzzle.
The morning gave us all chance to work in a team and learn how to PLAN a solution. Everyone worked together brilliantly and we hope now to bring all these problem solving skills to our maths lessons!

Year 3 Assembly
On Tuesday our Faith Friends in Year 3 did a very enjoyable and well prepared assembly on 'The Rosary'. We were reminded that October is the month of Mary and... a Mr Barton look-a-like even reminded the school how we say the Rosary.
On Tuesday afternoon, everyone in Year 3 and Year 6 met in the hall to pray a decade of the Rosary together. It was very special to share this.

Making new friends
This afternoon we met with our Faith Friends in Year 3.
Both classes had written letters to their Faith Friends and we read them to each other. It was lovely to get to know a little more about Year3. We will now display Year 3's letters on our prayer focus that we can think of them during our prayer times. It is always great to make a new friend!

Year 6 visits the library
Today Year 6 made their termly trip to the library.
We learnt how to use the index system to find books and we have found out about all the research books in the 'homework' section. Hopefully we will have chance to put these new skills and resources to use when we do our project over the Christmas holidays.
